Executive Committee

ADRP’s Executive Committee, which consists of the officers of the association, conducts ADRP business between meetings of the Board of Directors; recommends to the Board new or modified policies; and implements other duties and responsibilities as delegated to it by the Board.  The 2009-10 Executive Committee includes:

 

President Kelly High

As Director, CRM Business Transformation, Kelly High is leading the change in business process and marketing infrastructure that will support the implementation of American Red Cross (ARC) BioArch CRM initiative, which includes the Donor Relationship Management System (DRMS), the Telerecruitment Effectiveness Program and rollout of the new Donor Marketing Strategy. Kelly has served as the Senior Program Manager, Recruitment Optimizati on for BHQ in the Sales and Marketing Department since March 2008. In this role, she led the efforts of the Hemasphere Standardization team, provided support for the development and implementation of the Hemasphere Costing module and supported several national recruitment initiatives including Lean & BioArch. Kelly began her career at the American Red Cross in 2003 as the LifeBoard Manager for the Greater Chesapeake & Potomac Region, and in 2004 was promoted to Director of Donor Strategy for the region. Kelly is a graduate of the College of Notre Dame of Maryland with a B.A. in Computer Information Systems. She has served on the ADRP Board of Directors since 2006.

 

Immediate Past President John Hagins

John Hagins currently serves as chief executive officer of the American Red Cross Greater Alleghenies Blood Services Region. John began his career with the American Red Cross (ARC) in 1987. His first eight years with ARC were spent in hospital services. John assumed increasing responsibilities and was promoted to assistant director responsible for blood service delivery to more than 100 hospital customers. In July 2000, John became the senior director responsible for all areas of recruitment, collections and marketing / communications for the American Red Cross Penn Jersey region. In 2009, he became CEO for the Greater Alleghenies Blood Services Region. John has presented on multiple topics including quality of life for collections staff , managing recruitment activities, and apheresis platelet donor recruitment and collection.

 

President-Elect David Graham

David Graham has been a blood donor since he was 17 years old. He comes from a long-line of donors, including his mother, who made her 100th donation last year. David formally joined the industry in 2003 when he became Director of Recruitment at Community Blood Center of Greater Kansas City. In 2006, the center added collections and marketing to his recruitment responsibilities. Community Blood Center is the local non-profit supplier of blood services for 75 hospitals throughout Kansas City, Topeka, Lawrence, St. Joseph, and Jefferson City. David joined ADRP in 2004 and became involved in the Membership Committee. This past year, he served as the committee’s chair. He graduated from Northwest Missouri State University and has an M.A. from Indiana University. David has been married for 22 years and has two children.

 

Treasurer Charles Moore

Charles “Chuck” Moore is Director, Recruitment Call Centers for Carolinas Blood Services Region, American Red Cross, in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is a native of Tennessee and began his involvement with the blood program there in 1989. Since that time, he has progressed from volunteer donor to professional recruitment manager. He joined the American Red Cross in 1997 and was a 2001 recipient of the Tiffany Service Excellence Award. His current responsibilities involve the regional telerecruitment center, direct mail for the region, and the schedule of operations for the region. He graduated from East Tennessee State University and earned a graduate degree there in English. Chuck has been a member of ADRP since 1997. He has served on the Awards Membership, and Corporate Partnership Committees. He was the 2003 recipient of the Nancy J. Chapman Scholarship. His essay titled “Effective Management Techniques” was included in “Donor Recruitment: Tips, Techniques, and Tales,” co-published by ADRP and the AABB Press in 2005.

 

Vice President Moira Carter

Moira Carter has served as National Donor Services Manager for the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service (SNBTS) since April 1997. Her responsibilities include Collection Program Planning, Recruitment & Publicity, Donor Administration, Whole Blood Collection and Apheresis Collection. Moira joined SNBTS in 1979 as a Research Scientist to undertake a post into Rhesus Haemolytic Disease of the Newborn. This project formed the basis of Moira’s Ph.D. thesis in 1985. Moira continued to work in research with SNBTS primarily in the fields of cell culture and immunology with a keen interest in therapeutic monoclonal development. In 1997 she moved from the post of Head of Cell Culture & Immunology in SNBTS National Science Lab to her current post. Moira has served as a member of the UK Standing Advisory Committ ee for Care and Selecti on of Donors since 2000 and has a keen interest in the management of donor selection and minimizing the impact of medical deferrals.

 

Vice President Joe Ridley

Joe Ridley oversees Carter BloodCare’s operations headquartered in Tyler, TX and provides guidance to the management of their Waco, TX operations. Formerly the Vice President for Resource Development at Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center in Houston, TX, Joe has more than 40 years of experience in blood banking. He was an elected official to the AABB’s Administrative Section Coordinating Committee, served as the chairman of their Safety Committee, was President of the South Central Associati on of Blood Banks during 1991-1992, and was the president of SCABB’s foundation. Joe has also served as the President of the University Area Rotary Club in Houston. He is now the Chair of the Global Network for Blood Donation’s liaison committee to the blood bank professional community. Joe has extensive experience in public relations, corporate communications, strategic planning, innovation, change management, leadership coaching, and in leading sales and marketing teams. This past year, Joe served on the ADRP Global Programs Committee.

 

Secretary Amy Hutch

Amy Hutch has been with United Blood Services, Las Vegas since February, 2004. She worked as a donor recruitment representative until July, 2005, when she became manager of the mobile department, and ultimately director of donor recruitment in April, 2006. UBS-Las Vegas serves 28 hospitals and a population of two million residents, scheduled to collect over 90,000 red cells and 15,000 single donor platelets in 2009. In 2007, UBS-Las Vegas was recognized as achieving the highest percentage of annual goal and highest projection accuracy in the United Blood Centers system. Her major responsibilities include all mobile and fixed-site recruitment strategies, marketing and promotions planning, and media relations. Amy previously held various sales and recruitment positions in the education field and the beverage industry. She earned her MBA in Global Management from Thunderbird School of Global Management in August, 2009. This year she served as chair of the Awards Committee and Technology Task Force.
