The Perfect Gift
During the holiday period from late November through January, we typically see a drop in blood donations. Through this campaign, we urged people to give a gift from the heart, one that literally can not be bought. There were several components to this campaign: 1. A one minute, thirty-one second (1:31) donor recruitment video. 2. Twenty second (:20) and thirty second (:30) PSAs. 3. Print collateral pieces (posters, flyers, postcards, etc.). 4. Electronic banners (web and email). 5. Social media outlets. 6. A very limited edition, long-sleeved t-shirt. This campaign was created for two main reasons: 1. To increase public awareness about the need for blood and blood products. 2. To get people to act on this awareness and increase blood donations during the typical holiday shortage time. The Perfect Gift was very well received with several of the electronic components going viral. We had a large number of “likes”, “re-tweets” and url forwarding of the video.
