Motivating and educating donors is one of the most important aspects of donor recruitment.  Through public service announcements and advertising, myths and misconceptions of blood donation can be altered and awareness increased. For more than 20 years, Dan Ebert has encouraged ADRP members to share their center’s creative videos and public service announcements in the Film and Radio Awards. He not only helped to initially develop the awards, but actively solicited submissions.  He has served as the heart and soul of these awards. His enthusiasm and passion is contagious and genuine.

Whether in his home state of Florida soliciting donors or at the ADRP Conference working to encourage fellow professionals, Dan clad in his vibrant red pants, will break into song (and sometimes dance) about the importance of blood donation and donor recruitment. Dan, who calls himself Dan the Bloodman, has been a member of ADRP for more than 20 years. He has held the position of corporate communications Manager at Florida Blood Services since it was formed. He oversees the marketing for the center and works with local TV and radio stations to co-sponsor blood drives. He feels that the drives with radio support through public service announcements and live remotes are the most successful. Back in 2005, the Board of Directors honored Dan for his contributions by attaching his name to the Film and Radio Awards.
