I want to extend a huge thank you to Puget Sound Blood Center for all the behind scenes work they have done to welcome attendees to Seattle. From the countless hours organizing last night’s opening session to the Friday’s Host City event to providing tremendous volunteers, ADRP could not have held the conference without you.

Although I am definitely looking forward to see what Puget Sound  Blood Center has in store for us at the Host City Event on Friday, there is much to do at the conference before then.

This morning I facilitated an industry panel session led by Haemonetics and CaridianBCT. ADRP was pleased that these two industry leading companies stepped up to bring information to conference attendees on the role that automation can plan in collection strategies.

This afternoon, I sat in on the panel of Medical Directors discussing steps that can be taken to mitigate adverse reactions among a growing population of young donors.

I have also had a great time networking with the attendees. There are more than 400 attendees who have traveled from across the globe to be here this week. In fact we have 13 countries represented this year: Australia, Canada, Denmark, England, Finland, Ireland, Kenya, New Zealand, Nigeria, Russia, Scotland, South Africa, South Korea and the United States.

I am looking forward to sharing experiences and best practices with the speakers, attendees and vendors.
