ADRP Executive Director
It was a great ADRP Conference. And, from comments received through the online evaluation process, it appears that attendees agreed.
The ADRP meeting addressed the specific needs of our ever-changing environment. The presentations were developed to deliver best-in-class education to the attendees. The meeting invigorated and inspired me to be a better leader and implement strategic initiatives to improve our recruitment efforts. Thanks ADRP!

ADRP is invaluable for professional development and networking opportunities. I have been fortunate enough to attend three ADRP conferences during my blood banking career and continue to benefit from the knowledge and contacts gained from these events.

As I work through the process of paying the bills, updating the website with award and board information (I promise it will be soon) and generally cleaning up after the conference, I think I will never catch up. But then I realize, ah, it’s committee sign up time again. I will soon have another group of volunteers to help. Thank goodness.
Without the help of the ADRP board and committees, the success of events such as the conference would not be possible. This year the committees and their chairs made outstanding contributions to ADRP.
- Conference Committee members under Chair Darrin Greenlee, San Diego Blood Bank, simply knocked the conference content out of the park.
- Career Development Committee members under Chair Aissa Martin, American Red Cross, handled the pre-conference workshops and launched ADRP webinars this year.
- Corporate Partnership Committee members under Chair Betsy Ward, Memorial Blood Centers, worked diligently to get the vendors involved in the conference program and year-round.
- Awards Committee members under Chair Amy Hutch, United Blood Services, choose some deserving scholarship and award winners who were recognized in Seattle.
- Global Programs Committee members under Chair Carol Mitchell, Canadian Blood Services, are increasing the number of international attendees at the conference to increase our networking and sharing abilities.
- Membership Committee members under Chair David Graham, Community Blood Center of Kansas City, have now given the association an organizational membership option to join ADRP.
These committee chairs served under the tremendous leadership of 2009-10 ADRP President John Hagins. With John’s determination, the board developed a three-year strategic plan. If you did not have the opportunity to read the plan, check it out.
I think you’ll quickly see that John and the board have set lofty goals for the organization. Goals that will be achieved only because this group has such a dedicated volunteer base. Incoming ADRP President Kelly High is anxious to get started on these goals and is hopeful that members will sign up in record numbers to be on committees.
So, please check out the responsibilities of ADRP committees and sign up to serve on one through our online form.
And, don’t hesitate to add a comment to the blog. It’s been a little lonely since It got back from the conference.
I look forward to hearing from you and working with you on a committee.
