While blood centers continually seek to attract new donors and retain existing ones in a shrinking pool, they work to avoid excess blood collection. To maintain the right balance requires effective management of the available donor base to target the right donor with the right blood group at the right time. In addition, blood centers are promoting cooperation and collaboration across the whole supply chain in order to achieve this balance.
