ADRP Conference
Overview
To Members of the Association of Donor Recruitment Professionals (ADRP) and other donor recruitment professionals:
Seven years ago, after I had been hired as Director of Donor Recruitment at the Community Blood Center in Kansas City, I attended my first ADRP conference. The experience proved to be a tremendous networking and educational opportunity. Over the years, the sessions I have attended and the people I have met through the ADRP conferences have been invaluable.
The blood banking industry continues to evolve as it is impacted by technology, healthcare reform and the economy, the information shared at the ADRP Conference can help you and your blood centers learn how to adjust and retool operations to improve efficiencies. For example, the relationship between recruitment and collections is changing; today more and more centers are merging these departments into one. Targeting collections of the right product from the right donor, at the most efficient mobile drives, staffed appropriately and efficiently not only requires but demands clear direction and a strong working relationship with regular communication between recruitment and collections.
The ADRP Conference will be focusing on the critical ties between recruitment and collections. Sessions will also cover critical topics such as “right-sizing” collections, blood type recruiting and recruiting the right donors for the right products. To help
develop future industry leaders, ADRP will also include topics on leadership, team building, as well as industry hot topics.
Just as it did for me seven years ago and has been doing for over 30 years, ADRP will continue to be the premier resource for recruitment professionals. I encourage you to attend this year’s conference to benefit from the education and networking ADRP’s conference offers.
I look forward to seeing you in St. Louis!
David Graham
