Mentor Program
The Executive Committee of the Board of Directors approved the creation of the Mentor and Protégé Program with the intent of providing selected individuals opportunities to further develop both personally and professionally and to enjoy a more fulfilling experience as members of the Association. In addition, the Executive Committee saw this as a means to identify and cultivate our future leaders.
The number of mentor / protégé pairs will be limited, and for the foreseeable future will number between one and five. A protégé’s tenure in the program will last approximately one year, commencing in June 2011 and ending at the completion of the annual meeting in 2012.
The individuals selected as protégés will be expected to:
- Participate in committee activities,
- Complete various individual and group assignments,
- Provide periodic written reports, and
- Meet specific project deadlines.
Of necessity, protégés will need the approval and endorsement of their employer and immediate supervisor to allow for the extra time spent on Association-related activities and each protégé will have to make a personal commitment to invest their time as well. Each protégé will be paired with a mentor who, likewise, will have the support of his/her employer and will have made a personal commitment to guide the protégé throughout his/her tenure in the program.
Eligibility:
With the exception of anyone who has served or is serving as a member of the ADRP Board of Directors, all current individual members of the association are eligible to apply and be selected to be mentored as protégés within the Program.
Important Note: The timely submission of an application with the required endorsements will not guarantee an applicant’s acceptance into the Program as a protégé.
