 Creative Hiring: Empowering Future Leaders

The Blood Connection was having trouble retaining Donor Recruiters, staff who worked drives doing onsite recruitment.  We decided to go in a different direction and hire Sales and Marketing Interns who could morph into roles as needed, build resumes, step in where we were having turnover etc.  They interface with Senior Leadership on an ongoing basis and will present at the end of the internship what they’ve learned and any recommendations.  A positive has been the cross-pollination and their internal interaction.  Many stay in school in the Carolinas so will be built in recruiters on our campuses.  They are also helping us to think outside the box and learn to communicate the Gen Z way.
