Under minimal direction, this position is responsible for daily management of all operational and regulatory activities of the blood center. This position is responsible for ensuring the compliance with policies, programs, or directives set forth by Blood Systems. This position is responsible for the daily operational management of the full scope of the blood center.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Performs all duties in compliance with internal SOPs and external regulations. Brings compliance issues to the attention of BSI senior management
Assures quality service to all customers.
Maintains good attendance and punctuality per the absence policy.
Provides effective leadership to achieve high levels of service and product quality, financial results, and other criteria in accordance with policies, goals, and objectives.
Hires, supervises, trains and evaluates performance of assigned personnel. Identifies and effectively resolves personnel issues.
Reviews performance against operating plans, objectives, and benchmarks. Takes corrective action when necessary to improve performance.
Ensures the regional center functions in compliance with all regulatory standards and according to defined organizational policies and procedures, including deviation management and effective, timely corrective action at all times.
Collaborates with staff and business unit leadership to continually seek strategies to improve efficiencies, working conditions, customer satisfaction, and resolve conflicts.
Defines and exemplifies expectations for effective communications within the center and business unit.
Coordinates local operations with the business unit leadership for consistency, quality, and customer service. Collaborates within community with donors and customers.
Represents business unit in enterprise functional council meetings, projects and initiatives.
Participates in the annual budget preparation and ensures adherence to approved department budget.
Remains abreast of changes and developments in the blood banking industry related to regulations and standards and provides direction to implement required changes. Establishes and maintains a network of professional relationships.
Performs all other duties, at the discretion of management, as assigned.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Knowledge of healthcare or blood service operations preferred.
Eight years of related experience required. To include:
Previous blood center or health care industry experience preferred.
Must possess the skills and abilities to successfully perform all assigned duties and responsibilities.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
Must have analytical, statistical, personal organization, and problem solving skills.
Able to organize, prioritize, and execute a variable workload and multiple priorities.
Effective oral and written business communication skills.
Must have a participative management style, strong team development, coaching skills, and the ability to lead and motivate senior and executive-level managers.
Ability to work in a team environment and participate as an active member of management.
Must have proficient computer skills.
