Convalescent Plasma Donors – What’s Next?
What is the next chapter look like for convalescent plasma donors? And how will blood centers engage and retain these important donors?
Two blood centers will present data on who these donors are and what their donation histories look like to date. This information will help form strategies to further establish an ongoing blood center relationship with these donors.
Following the presentation there will be an open forum to discuss this topic and will allow you to collaborate with others to lead the industry forward.
- Linsday Hix, Executive Director Training and Development, Oklahoma Blood Institute: Lindsay Hix has been in blood banking for more than a decade, having worn many hats within the Oklahoma, Texas and Arkansas Blood Institutes, ranging from Communications, to Recruiter, to now Executive Director of Donor Recruitment Training and Development. Being a part of the 6th largest blood center is exciting and challenging, which keeps Lindsay motivated to keep working towards our life-saving mission. When she isn’t leading projects and recruiting donors, Lindsay can be found at home with her husband – whom she met at a blood drive – and two young daughters.
- Tara Scott, Associate Vice President Recruitment Operations, Oklahoma Blood Institute
- Matt Swanson, PMP, Project Manager, Versiti Blood Center of Wisconsin: Matt joined Versiti just weeks before COVID-19 hit and simultaneously navigated a new organization while working on the launch of Versiti’s COVID Convalescent Plasma (CCP) collection and distribution program. Matt worked across multiple departments and states as he helped guide the inception of Versiti’s CCP program in Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio, strategically opening a pipeline to potential donors and orchestrating the efficient collection and distribution of CCP. As CCP demand subsides, the work is now focused on developing initiatives to retain CCP donors and convert them into blood or platelet donors. Over the last decade, Matt built an extensive and versatile background in project management at organizations like Harley Davidson Motor Company in Milwaukee, Wisconsin and One10 Marketing in Troy, Michigan. Matt’s approach centers on finding efficiencies and improvements while leading and managing multiple projects and building team engagement. Since graduating from the University of Kansas in 2005, Matt has received his Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and Six Sigma Yellow Belt
