Presentation Description:

Donor hemovigilance is designed to help blood collectors learn about complications associated with blood donation. Participation in a local or national donor hemovigilance program demonstrates the collector's respect and concern for donors. Blood collectors can benefit from comparing results and sharing experiences other blood collectors to the benefit of donors everywhere. The development of the Donor Hemovigilance program in the US will be described and findings from recent national donor hemovigilance reports will be discussed.
